Equipment Spotlight: Emmeci Insulated Glue Sample Tank

For box-makers using Emmeci rigid box and laminating machines, you'll be excited to learn that they're introducing an Insulated Glue Sample Tank. This new component will make achieving recommended glue application temperatures easier than ever.

The Emmeci Insulated Glue Sample Tank was designed to help maintain a more consistent glue temperature across the entire width of the glue roller; not just at the center.

Historically, equipment operators have struggled with the glue being warmer at the center of the roller than at the ends because of heat dissipation. The technical team at Emmeci has designed this new system to remedy this issue. This will be especially helpful for customers working with wider sheets of paper and board.

LD Davis rigid box animal glues (protein glues) run best at approximately 140-150°F (60-65°C ). To achieve these temperatures at the roller, most customers keep their glue pot at the water jacket at approximately 167–194°F (75-90°C ). The Insulated Glue Sample Tank will not only allow customers to make better product, but it allows customers to lower the temperature of the glue in the glue pot. This will ensure the glue does not burn, or lose any of its bonding properties from overexposure to heat.

Keeping the glue pot at lower temperatures will result in reduced energy savings and reduced costs of replacement glue pot heater elements.

The Insulated Glue Sample Tank is available for the Emmeci MC-92 series, MC-2004 series, and MC-2012 rigid box lines.  It now comes standard on all of their new Laminators and Casemakers, and is available as an "add-on" for older machines.  All new digital lines will include this system as well.
