The manufacturing industry is constantly changing, especially when it comes to creating hardback books. More recently, EVA hot melt has been a standard for backlining and still dominates, but before EVA hot melts, protein glue was used for backlining and is making a comeback once again.

This year, LD Davis celebrated its 95th anniversary. For nearly a century, we have been at the forefront of adhesive solutions, starting as a small family-owned business to becoming one of the largest glue manufacturers in North America. 

Staying at the forefront of glue manufacturing requires innovation. When you’re one of the world’s oldest manufacturers and compounders of gelatin glue, your equipment may need an upgrade. Recently, Lee Process Equipment™ (LPE) helped our facility in Monroe, NC replace four existing fountain blenders to improve our bulk material handling process.
