The method of bookbinding often used to make soft cover and paperback books is called "perfect binding". 

As consumers become heavily focused on the importance of biodegradability and eco-friendliness, manufacturers need to start thinking "green" in all facets of the manufacturing process.  Today’s consumers, especially Millennials and younger Gen Z bunch, place high importance on sustainability (Packaging Strategies).

They are scouring store shelves for products that are made and packaged sustainably. 

While it may not be apparent from the outside, a lot has been going on behind-the-scenes at L.D. Davis Industries. 

In April of this year our team made the switch to an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system. A lot of time and effort went into choosing the best software for our company, training with the new program, and implementation.

We wanted to take the time to share our ERP system experience for any businesses out there that may be considering making the switch. 

Our lab team tests gram strength on all gelatin and animal glues we receive into our manufacturing facility.  We then use that number in correlation to the viscosity to determine what raw materials get used in our cake glues and dehydrated hide glue.
