As we enter the season of giving, it’s important to reflect on ways we can help our local community. Recently, LD Davis provided a generous contribution to The Whiskers & Wags Casino night organized by the Humane Society of Union County (HSUC). HSUC saw an outpouring of support from various contributors, aiming to aid the society's invaluable work in rescuing and caring for animals.
The PAWS at the Whiskers & Wags Casino event is HSUC's premier fundraising affair, crucial to their operations as a 5013c nonprofit organization. This event serves as a significant pillar in their fundraising efforts. The recent casino night managed to raise over $53,000, a testament to the community's dedication to supporting the society's cause.

The event, a night of delight and charitable giving, featured various activities, including casino games, culinary treats, and a silent auction that drew enthusiastic participation from attendees. LD Davis, as a Wags Sponsor, not only contributed but also demonstrated our commitment to supporting the cause, providing funds and exposure through our donation.
About the Humane Society of Union County
HSUC operates primarily in Union County, NC, and surrounding areas, focusing on animal rescue, fostering, and operating a low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic. The society's website, which can be found at https://hsuc.org/, offers comprehensive information about their mission, ongoing events, and ways to support their cause.
The HSUC doesn't just rely on one major event for support; they hold various activities and fundraisers throughout the year. The annual PAWS Poker Run in October and the upcoming Breakfast at Kitteny's on December 6 are just a few examples. Additionally, they organize Adoption Events every month, showcasing the animals in need of loving homes.
Working Together to Support Our Furry Friends
In addition to providing support during the casino night, LD Davis has further extended a helping hand by providing the HSUC with access to our conference room. This space, conveniently located just 1.9 miles from the society's Monroe Low-Cost Spay/Neuter clinic, has proven invaluable for the society's monthly meetings, serving as a central and supportive location.
The collaborative effort between LD Davis and HSUC stands as a heartwarming testament to the impact that companies and local communities can create when they come together for a noble cause. We are proud to assist HSUC and look forward to new ways to improve the lives of animals in need in our community.
