The L.D. Davis sales team act as the "front lines" of our company. Most times, they are the first person that a prospect or customer speaks with. They also provide technical training, and support.

In the next week our Territory Manager, Kelly Benjamin, celebrates 5 years with LD Davis Industries. What an accomplishment!

We sat down with Kelly to see how her time at LD Davis has been over the last 5 years.

Work hard

How did you get your start in the glue industry?

Before working at LD Davis, I did not have any experience in the glue industry. To be honest, glue wasn't really something I ever really thought about, which I'm sure most people can relate to.

I heard about the position at L.D. Davis through a family member and called for an interview. My background was in business so it seemed like the perfect fit. I spoke with the VP of Sales, Stacey, and the rest is history.

I started as inside customer service out of college and now I am the Northeast Territory manager.

How has LD Davis helped you in your career development?

My professional career, post-college, really started at L.D Davis.

As I mentioned, I stated in customer service/ inside sales. That position helped me learn much more about our customers and our product line up, so when the time came I was well equipped to transition into the outside sales role in October of 2015.

Before working at LD Davis, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I worked for a catering company while in college. We catered for our local minor league baseball stadium. I was the grill master and always came home smelling of grease. Good times!

What advice do you have for prospective LD Davis candidates?

Take a lot of notes and do not be afraid to ask questions. The more questions you ask the faster you will learn. The technical information on our glues is not something you will learn overnight so be patient.

What do you like most about working at LD Davis?

Not one day is the same for me. I enjoy going out to visit prospects/customers and learning more about their operations.

What is your proudest moment at LD Davis?

We have the support of our lab and other employees when making glue product recommendations, but recently I was able to make a recommendation on my own. I was familiar with the equipment and their application. It was such a great feeling!

Play hard

What is your favorite city to travel to?

Anywhere in Ireland! Two years ago I went on a family vacation to Ireland and there was this very small city called Doolin. The pub there was fantastic. The food and the live music made for a wonderful night!

What is the last concert you attended?

I do not get to many concerts, but I think it was a country concert - Brad Paisley. I love my country music!

Favorite food?

Anything Mexican - that includes margaritas as well! Cheers!

Favorite movie?

I'm a little bit of a sucker for any romantic comedy. There are too many to list.

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?

Getting caught up on any good Netflix series someone recommends to me or hanging out with my family or friends. Attending a sporting event or a local bar.
