Troubleshooting: Protein Glue Running Thin

Written by Maria Ceschan | Aug 8, 2017 12:33:34 PM

Is your protein glue running too thin? If so, you could be running into some performance issues.

There are a few reasons why your protein glue (hide glue, animal glue) is running too thin.

This can occur if the machine temperature is running too high or if the glue is diluted with too much water. If the temperature is too high, this could cause several other issues including slower set times, or failure of the glue formula.

Proper temperature is crucial to glue performance. Always be sure to check your glue products Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for recommended application temperatures.
