The winter season is here! We at LD Davis look forward to celebrating the holidays and sending cheer, and we hope you and yours get to enjoy the merriment with friends and family.
Earlier this month, we sent out a notice that we will be closed from December 25th through January 1st for the holidays. We will resume shipments on January 2nd, 2024.
With all the boxes and gifts this time of year, we have been thinking more about our shipping methods, storage, and warehousing.
As the seasons turn over, now is a great time to review your production for this year, what went well, and how it can be improved. Here are some recommendations and methods we utilize.
Shipping Adhesive
Warehousing and Adhesive Storage
The world of shipping and logistics is constantly evolving. We mainly focus on adhesive manufacturing and shipping but always watch the changing landscape. Shipping leaders are forecasting several prominent trends for the year ahead:
Digitization - The effect of the pandemic and the emergence of a remote workforce pushed digitization across the globe. Real-time shipment tracking and supply chain visibility have been implemented industry-wide, and many companies are going paperless.
Sustainability - The emphasis on eco-shipping shopping and carbon-neutral delivery options to reduce environmental impact remains a central focus. Global shipping regulators have implemented regulations, such as the International Maritime Organization's "IMO 2020" rule. A recent study by the United National Global Company and Accenture confirmed that almost half of CEOs see supply chain responsibility as a part of the sustainability strategy.
Last-Mile Delivery - Many companies have expanded their last-mile delivery options with the rapidly changing delivery ecosystem. Also, as new regulations and oversight are implemented, autonomous delivery solutions could enter the real world in early 2024.
Supply Chain Resilience - The pandemic exposed vulnerabilities in the supply chain, and in response, companies are reinventing their strategies and implementing risk management solutions. These include changing where materials are sourced and diversifying suppliers.
As we take this brief hiatus from shipping, we encourage you to reflect on your production strategies just as we're reviewing our shipping methods and storage processes. The turn of the year offers a valuable opportunity to assess what worked well and how we can collectively strive for improvement.
From all of us here, we wish you a joyous holiday season! May the coming year bring success, growth, and strengthened partnerships. We look forward to resuming shipments on January 2nd, 2024, and continuing to serve your adhesive needs with dedication and innovation. If you have any questions about our production, please let us know.
